      Sometimes the noises bother me but not in this scene, probably because it is a horny gangbang with for guys! Plus Timmy Taylor is a natural vocal performer. A studio/director has to walk a fine line between "silent as a mouse" and " exaggerated and unnatural sounds". For me it all depends on the kind of scene. That scene between Brad Fitt and Tim Law was on the silent side and perfectly matched the atmosphere of the scene. This gangbang scene was more vocal and for me that did not devalue it.

        Well, generally, I think that the noises in many newer Staxus flicks are well done. This group scene is a rare exception for me. Also the direction and editing has improved in my eyes since John Smith took over. Contrary to older Vlado Iresch movies there are not so many edits, cuts & close-ups anymore; the faces and emotions of the models are better captured during the intercourse. Furthermore, in older Iresch-titles the boys are often wearing shirts & shoes during the fucking - that was a turn-off for me. However, comparing the camera work, editing and sound with some recent Staxus releases from the British company department, directed by Michael Burling, I must say that Mr. Burling makes in my humble opinion the hottest, most natural European gayporn twink movies of today. Other studios from Eastern Europe are in a decline in my eyes: Nearly all Belami releases from the past five years for example are spoiled by exaggerated, stilted, heavily overdone, unnatural, monotonous and often asynchronous moaning. Especially the bareback releases from Bratislava - the 'Skin on Skin Series' & the 'Taboo Titles' are perfekt examples of how to ruin a pretty line-up and nice action with an inferior, insensitive , bugging sound...     ´ After the directing and editing has improved - not so many camera moves, close-ups & cuts anymore - there is one thing left, which John Smith could learn from the English Staxus director Michael Burling, and from two other gifted directors in the gayporn business: from the dead Bryan Kocis (of the American Cobra studio) , and from the retired Peter Z. Pan from PZP Productions (check out his titles 'Oliver Twink' and ''Twinks Finally 18'). These three director's have noticed the importance of faces and tried always to capture the emotions of the models as natural as possible during the fucking and in the moment of them climaxing; their scenes end rarely with the stereotype finish of so many other productions: focussing on the shooting alone (mostly in the face of another model). Instead their cameras catch the shooting in combination with the facial expressions of the climaxing model in the very moment of his orgasm. This separates the good from the better movies, in my opinion. And therefore - in combination with major flaws like exaggerated editing and far too many camera moves - I call the works of the inferior producers /directors Max Lincoln & Marc Reardon (Eurocreme England), Lukas Ridgeston (Belami), Rolf Hammerschmidt (Hammer/Vimpex), Michael Paris (eboys), Alex Clark (Dolphin), Nir Rosenbaum (SEVP) & Marcel Bruckman (Man's Art/XY) alltogether crap to forget.     Definitely I also agree that lately the noises are overdone in videos and monotonous moaning does not sound natural. Live sound is always better and more exciting, although it can be sometimes a bit quiet, but better than something exaggerated thant does not correspond with what we are watching.

      ´ Pure live sound is very rare in gayporn. Even the more subtle & realistic scenes are often dubbed. Personally, I think that original live sound is always hotter than every dubbing. Therefore every DVD release should contain alternative tracks: the real deal with all the director's instructions & commands, with the true screams and whispers of the models on the set; and alternatively a dubbed synchro for viewers who prefer music and/or monotonous moaning... This is not so much a Staxus problem. But, as already written, for example nearly every Belami movie from Bratislava released in the past five years - is poisoned by improper, stilted, insensitive & annoying noises.... :( ´

        Well we try to do a blend between the two. Recently we use very soft music and only during the intro of the scene. Otherwise we sometimes use chilling & moody background effects such as the sound of rain. I personally was never a fan of Vlado Ireschs's choice to use cheap techno music and have it during the full scene. I prefer the way John does the new editing, with soft intros and then let the model moaning do the rest. I can't express any opinion regarding other studios because it wouldn't be fair and ethical but I do like the new approach John takes with directing and editing our Staxus scenes. But Motzki just gave me a brilliant idea! I will ask John to send me a raw, unedited scene where you can hear his voice and direction in the background and will release it together with the edited version. All my best, Andy Staxus.com

    ´ Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe the majority of your customers will prefer the dubbed synchro. But this should be no problem, no risk at all: since there will be no further expenses for you. Just release every DVD alternatively with the original live sound - and with a dubbed soundtrack, too. Every mainstream movie, every motion picture from Hollywood contains at least four different tracks of tongue. And in most cases the first and original - native speaking - track outshines all the additional dubbings. So this could be a historic chance for the Staxus Stable - since the other big names in the business: William Higgins, Falcon, Kristen Bjorn, Belami, Ayor, Eurocreme Cadinot & Co. - did not care so far and prefer spoiling most of their their releases with unnatural, stilted sounds.... ´

    Hey Motzki, Great idea - I will talk to the production team and start having a raw, unedited alternative soundtrack together with the edited one so that people may choose. I believe the vast majority prefer the movie edited, but there are quite a few that want to hear the director instructions and so on.     But regarding scenes we can stream or download in staxus.com (not DVD releases), I like the soft intros, but the important thing is to let the model do the rest. So I agree Andy about it. Real noises when kissing, sucking, fucking, spanking... are very nice. Also the live sound when talking, although it is in another language, is fine too. I imagine that microphones are used to capture the sounds. Maybe outdoor videos are better for this and I know some videos are a bit quiet due to the place or the models acting, but that is better than listening an awful music during the whole movie or unreal moaning, shouts or sounds which do not correspond with what we are watching. Lately some of the big studios here mentioned are taking care about this. I think Staxus is doing a good job, but it can be still better, I give an example: the movie "Cock-mad twink" has a soft beginning, a nice back massage, and it is quiet in an exciting atmosphere with the only sounds of the furniture, knocks, claps... everything very nice until here, but then during fucking you listen a lot of unreal moans when actors are not moving his lips.
