Does Gay, Straight or Bi matter in performer info?

146

I just saw a comment from member Chris on the latest video (Bareback Frat Pack Scene 3) and he raised an interesting question (thanks Chris!) does whether a model is gay, straight or bisexual in their private life matter to the viewer?

As many fans will know there is a long history of boys and men who identify as straight in their private lives appearing in gay porn, sucking cock and fucking, and even getting fucked too. One of the most memorable for me was Alex Stevens – one of those straight boys who convinced everyone he was at least bi with his hunger for cock and his love of cum!

Chris proposes that performers have this piece of information added to their bio pages on the Staxus site, and that many members might appreciate knowing.

It’s an interesting idea and I know many other sites do this too, but I thought I would ask the readers here and see what you all think? This doesn’t mean this will be changed of course, I just wonder whether you believe this information matters to your enjoyment of the scene or the performer.

Personally I don’t mind, it might be nice to have that there and no doubt there are a lot of guys who love seeing a “gay for pay” performer enjoying some action on video. Let me know in the comments :)

It is nobodys business but the performer and anyway who is to know that what the performer says is the truth . All that matters is the production and the performance of those involved and comments on the latter shouldn't be coloured by having been told what the performer regards as his sexuality .

I actually agree with you. I think it works on some other sites out there where the theme is about straight guys, or men exploring things, but I don't think that really works for all sites and I think it's probably better to keep it the way it is. And as you say, how are we to know if a performer actually is gay, straight or bi in their personal lives? They might just choose to identify as such for business purposes (and they would have every right to). Therefore I think it makes it a bit of a moot point.

On a personal level for the models of course it's better if they are gay or bi so that they fully enjoy the scenes. But porn is just fantasy and sexual performance on cam, so as long as it looks good on camera I'm happy =) Watched some interview a couple of years ago with a porn model agency owner (LA based) he considered his models "sexual athletes" who perform on camera, I think it's a lot of truth in that.

I think it would be distracting, part of the fantasy is wanting to suspend reality and dream if being with the favorite model. If I knew he was straight it would ruin the fantasy.

That's an interesting opinion, of course it could be pointed out that others might have the fantasy of straight guys appearing in gay porn too, so surely this goes in different ways? But I agree, that's not the fantasy here, that's not what Staxus is built on. It works for other sites where it's about straight guys being filmed but here it's simply about gorgeous young men sharing their sexual enjoyment with each other.

To be honest knowing their sexuality helps with some of my fantasies. Sometimes I like to see a straight guy get fucked and dped.

I guess an actor is an actor, and can play gay or straight. In "porn", though (I Do object to the term), it seems that every performance, being built around sex, has to have some pleasure or satisfaction built into the role by the actor. After all, I can tell everyone I'm a vegetarian and still eat meat. Along those lines, someone who defines themselves as "straight" and participates in gay sex, has to make one wonder. Actually, I don't, because I think most of these people are trying to put unnecessary labels on themselves. One doesn't have to be one or the other (or all shades in-between) to be open to having sex with another man (and no one drags them into it kicking and screaming).

Who cares... Staxus could lie and tell us theyre all gay or all straight and we wouldnt know any different. Im sure 90% of the information on the model profiles isnt true anyway, as other commentators have said... its a fantasy.
